17th Asian Games
Incheon - Arab Today

Kuwaiti athletes are continuing their good performances across several disciplines at the 17th Asian Games in South Korea's Incheon with some already edging ever so close to receiving further medals.
Kuwait have so far clinched two silver medals in shooting, with Fehaid Al-Deehani taking the trap men's individuals event and the trap men's team event alongside Abdulrahman Al-Faihan and Khaled Al-Mudhaf.
Meanwhile, Abdallah Al-Mezayen will have all eyes set on gold when he faces Ghosal Saurav of India in the men's singles squash final on Tuesday.
Al-Mezayen, 26, edged 2013 East Asian Games champion Lee Ho Yin of Hong Kong by 3-2 sets in the semi-final to record a dream accomplishment for his nation and a personal record.
Even a silver medal will be a great achievement for the Kuwaiti, considering he came only fifth last time around and has never won a single medal at the Asian Games.
However, the two-time Asian Championships silver-medalist will face tough competition from Saurav, who was a bronze medalist at the 2012 Guangzhou games.
Kuwait's basketball squad have made it out of the qualification stages after topping their group with three consecutive victories over Maldives, Hong Kong and Mongolia.
They head into two tough preliminary round group encounters with 2006 Doha silver-medalists Qatar on Tuesday followed a day later by Japan, who lost out on a bronze in Guangzhou to Iran.
In volleyball, Kuwait achieved their second preliminary round consecutive victory over Saudi Arabia, 77-68, and await a mouthwatering encounter with 2010 champions Japan on Thursday.
Hopes are also strong for the bowling squad who start on Tuesday, particularly as Mohammed Al-Rgeebah will look to add to his medals tally after clinching the individual men's silver in Guangzhou.
China, with 58 medals - 26 gold, 14 silver and 18 bronze - are leading the medals chart four days after the official opening of the competition.
They are followed by hosts South Korea (45 medals - 14 gold, 15 silver and 16 bronze) in second and Japan (42 medals - 13 gold, 13 silver and 16 bronze) in third, while Kuwait, with two silver medals thus far, are 16th.
The Asian Games, which this year combines a total 45 nations from across the continent and are considered the second largest multi-sport event after the Olympics, ends on October 4.
