Al Shahaniya ensured on Saturday that Lekhwiya would not be crowned champions today after the two sides drew 3-3/ Al Shahaniya earned their 19th point of the campaign to remain in 13th place, one point behind Al Wakra as the two fight their way out of relegation. Al Wakra will face Qatar Sports Club latter today.
On the side, Lekhwiya now has 56 points. They are eight points away from Al Sadd, who will play Al Gharafa later today. Lekhwiya needed to beat Al Shahaniya to seal its second consecutive title and fourth in its history.
