A Kerala youth who wanted to have a final bike ride before boarding a flight to Dubai was killed in a road accident on Monday.
Local media reported that Sharon, 27, son of Madathiparambil Shaji from Kalamassery in Kochi, was killed in a road mishap after he decided to have a short bike ride before boarding the flight from the Cochin International Airport, Nedumbassery.
The incident happened around 3.30pm on Monday, shortly before Sharon was to board a flight to Dubai after his vacation in Kerala.
Sharon was travelling to the airport in a car with family members, but reports said that as they were approaching the airport, Sharon decided to take a ride on the bike on which his sister and brother-in-law were escorting the family to the airport.
The youth asked his brother-in-law to travel in the car, and then rode the bike, with his sister riding pillion. Hardly a few kilometres before the airport, he lost balance and the bike crashed, throwing Sharon and his sister on the road.
Both were immediately rushed to a hospital at Angamaly by Malayalam actress Navya Nair who happened to be passing by, but Sharon lost his life. Reports said his sister was recovering from injuries.
