The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) , the governing sport body is preparing to mark the World Walking Day at Doha Aspire Park on Thursday. Walking as a mass phenomenon occupies a dominant place in the world of active living. Taking into account the many benefits of walking to people of all ages, Trim and Fitness International Sport for All Association (TAFISA) has launched the World Walking Day in 1991. The World Walking Day merges the manifold efforts in the field of walking and stands for the common aim of TAFISA member organizations from all continents to present walking as a worldwide movement above all as a means against obesity and inactivity. On the other hand, the Qatar Olympic Committee will also organize the sports festival for women and girls on November 02, 2013. Source: Qatar Olympic Committee
