The 23rd edition of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open kicked off Monday, with the major tournament organized by the Qatar Tennis Federation at the Khalifa International Tennis Complex and is to last till January 10.
At the Men's Round one, Italian Simone Bolelli beat German Benjamin Becker 6-3, 7-6 (7-2), while French Richard Gasquet defeated Spaniard Pablo Andujar 6-3, 7-5.
Moreover, Croatian Ivan Dodig beat Egyptian Mohammad Safwat 6-3, 6-1, and German Dustin Brown defeated Italian Paolo Lorenzi 7-6 (7-3), 6-3.
On Tuesday, defending champion Rafael Nadal of Spain will go against German Michael Berrer, while seven-time Grand Slam winner and current world No. one Novak Djokovic will play against countryman Dusan Lajovic
