His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa , Deputy Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club High Committee has met the Chairman of the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities (IFHA), Mr. Louis Romanet at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 16th race held by the Club as part of this year’s racing season.
During the meeting, Mr. Louis extended an invitation to His Highness to attend the next International Conference of Horseracing Authorities, which will be hosted in Paris in October of this year as well as the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe 2015 race which will take place on the sidelines of the conference.
Mr. Louis expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness for the opportunity to visit the Kingdom and accompany His Highness to the race.
Mr. Louis highlighted the Club’s high committee aspirations, noting its clear commitment to fulfilling the goals and objectives aimed at developing the Club’s organisational skills and status in the region.
During the visit, Mr. Louis also met with senior staff members of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club to discuss areas of bilateral cooperation, in particular, the IFHA’s role in providing technical counsel on the organisation of fitting regional and international horseracing events and exhibitions.
Mr. Louis expressed his admiration of the Club’s racecourse, highlighting that its landscape is fully aligned with international standards. In addition, he noted the thorough assessment and examination system maintained at the Club, including the use of plastic barriers and other important safety features.
In conclusion, Mr. Louis highlighted that the equine techniques maintained at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club are fully aligned with best international practice to host international races.
