Algerian runner Toufik Makhloufi qualified for the 1500m final of the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games as he ranked 2nd the first round of the semifinals (3'39''88) played Thursday at the Joao Havelange Olympic Stadium.
This is the second silver medal for Makhloufi in Rio 2016 after taking the silver medal in the 800m run on Monday.
It is also the fourth silver medal for Arab after the two silvers of the Qatari champion Mutaz Barshim in the high jump and the Bahraini Eunice Kirwa in women's Marathon.
