Team Novo Nordisk, the world's first all-diabetes professional cycling team, is set to compete in the Dubai Tour, a four-stage race to be held from the 4th to the 7th of February.
Starting from the Dubai International Marine Club on each day, the riders will be covering 663 kilometres of the city, passing by the great landmarks of Burj Khalifa, Palm Jumeirah, Hatta Dam and Union House Flag.
The men's professional cycling team is at the forefront of Team Novo Nordisk, a global all-diabetes sports team of cyclists, triathletes and runners. The team's mission is to inspire, educate and empower people affected by diabetes.
"Team Novo Nordisk is very excited to be racing at the Dubai Tour for the first time," says Phil Southerland, CEO and co-founder of Team Novo Nordisk. "The Dubai Tour attracts top cyclists and fans from all over the world who will be watching. While the United Arab Emirates has one of the highest rates of diabetes in the world, our team can show what may be possible with the condition as well as sharing our mission to inspire, educate and empower people with diabetes."
