The global phenomenon
Dubai - Arab Today

The global phenomenon in mass participation sport and the world's brightest 5k night run – Electric Run - is coming to Dubai this November with Daman's ActiveLife as presenting partner.

UAE residents will be treated to an extraordinary race experience that has quickly become the biggest night run in the world.

Electric Run has electrified London, Chicago, Los Angeles and Singapore, and has taken Sydney and New York by storm. Since 2013, over one million people have taken on the Electric Run challenge around the globe.

Electric Run is a night run and the most social mass participation event in the world. The format features up to seven lands, including Electro Rainforest, Rainbow Road, Sweet Tooth Acres, Neffmaus Land, The Powerhouse, Electric Avenue, Pillar Party, and the all-new Under the Sea.

Each land is unique and is composed of different artistic elements to convey different moods, ranging from energetic to ethereal transporting participants to different worlds.

The 5km neon-lit track also sees giant light installations, DJs blasting international modern electric music, and an epic end-of-run concert.

Electric Run was created in the US in 2013 as the growth in mass participation sport began to take hold around the globe. In the ensuing two years Electric Run has visited more than 15 countries and entertained people of all ages, nationalities and athletic abilities in over 30 cities worldwide.

A unique aspect of Electric Run is its ability to attract people of all ages and backgrounds in whichever part of the world it tours. Participants of all ages in their neon attire become part of the show which makes it more than just a running event. Participants can walk or run the 5km course at their own pace with friends and family before they cross the finish line and arrive at the unforgettable post-event concert.

"When we created Electric Run we wanted an event where people can entertain all their senses in a space that is family and spectator-friendly,” explained Dan Hill, Founder of Electric Run.

"Electric Run has fast become the favourite and most exciting addition to the new wave of experience-led running events and I am looking forward to see how the UAE will make it its own, bringing together people from all walks of life.”

The inaugural Middle East events, set to take place in Dubai in November and Abu Dhabi in the New Year, have already attracted the title sponsorship of National Health Insurance Company – Daman's ActiveLife brand, an initiative that aims to mobilise the UAE community to lead a healthy, active lifestyle through a wide range of events and programmes.

"We're excited to be partnering with Electric Run for their Middle East debut. The event embodies what Daman's ActiveLife is all about; engaging the community to take-up sports in a fun and accessible environment for all ages,” said Dr. Sven Rohte, Chief Commercial Officer at Daman.

"We've noticed a growing appetite in the UAE for non-timed, family health and fitness events which is in line with the global trend; therefore we're excited to bring Electric Run as an exciting addition to the UAE's community's events calendar.”

Bringing the race experience to the Emirates is international sports marketing agency Fast Track. "Electric Run is a phenomenally successful global brand and we are delighted to be bringing it to the Middle East. No matter how old, how fit, or how cool, everyone is welcome to join and be a part of this thrilling experience, so don't miss out and register your interest now at www.electricrun.ae,” said Ben Faber, Regional Director, Fast Track.
