The curtain was rolled down on the Youth City 2030 at a closing ceremony held under the patronage of His Majesty the King’s Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The celebration marking conclusion of the function, which was co-organised by the General Organisation for Youth and Sport (GOYS) and the strategic partner Tamkeen, was attended by ministers, members of the Shura and Representatives Councils and invitees.
Shaikh Nasser praised the Youth City 2030 as one of the pioneering programmes aimed at training Bahraini youngsters well and equipping them with experiences which take into consideration the needs of the labour market. He underscored full support to such programmes which are in concordance with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to boost the role of the Bahraini youth and tap on their potentials.
Shaikh Nasser emphasised the key role of Bahraini youngsters in bringing about a quality development leap in Bahrain by taking part actively in the development march while relying on their capabilities and inner potentials. He expressed happiness about meeting many Bahraini youngsters at the Youth City 2030 who showed a great zeal to serve their homeland through various initiatives.
During the celebration, which was held at the Youth City 2030 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Manama, Shaikh Nasser toured the Youth City exhibition and got informed about the different progarammes held at the function. He also honoured the cooperative parties which contributed to the success of the function and outstanding students.
Youth and Sport Affairs Minister Hesham bin Mohammed Al Jowder thanked Shaikh Nasser for patronising the event which asserts his keenness to support programmes aimed at training Bahraini youngsters. He pointed out success of the sixth edition of the Youth City 2030, stressing GOYS’ continuous evaluation of the Youth City’s programmes to know about how beneficial they were for the youth. He also underlined keenness to carry out the directives of Shaikh Nasser to raise the number of participants, programmes and training opportunities in the next edition so as to ensure more Bahraini youngsters take advantage.
