Mood remains upbeat in the football-crazy Sultanate with fans rallying behind the Red Warriors, the national football team, ahead of its crucial match against Japan in the 2014 Fifa World Cup Asian qualifier at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex tomorrow. With football reaching feverish pitch, The Zubair Corporation Group of Companies along with Zubair Automotive Group have extended its support to the national team by offering complimentary tickets to its staff for the vital match. Soon after Oman's 2-1 win against Jordan in the World Cup qualifying match last month, Oman coach Paul Le Guen had thanked the home fans for coming in large numbers to the stadium. The coach admitted the home fans had spurred the players and served as the 12th member of the team. The qualifying stage has reached midway and with four more matches remaining for the top two teams to be decided to reach the 2014 World Cup from the group, Oman will be hoping to cash in the home advantage to pocket the three points with a win against Japan. A packed Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex that can accommodate 27,000 fans will definitely be a perfect setting for Le Guen and his team to achieve it. Besides the two direct berths for Brazil, the third-placed team will be involved in playoffs to decide its fate. The management of The Zubair Corporation Group of Companies along with Zubair Automotive Group is been widely acknowledged for its support to the Red Warriors for the past many years and has also been previously felicitated by the Ministry of Sports Affairs and the Oman Football Association on many occasions. The latest offer of complimentary tickets to its staff reiterates the commitment of the Zubair Group towards its continuous support to Oman football. With thousands of tickets been given, the management hopes that the Red Warriors will achieve its goal against Japan in front of a capacity crowd. The campaign to support the national football team is one of the numerous sporting initiatives by the Zubair companies over the last couple of decades. Orpic support Meanwhile, in support of the Red Warriors and the biggest game in Omani football history, Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic) have given 1,000 football fans from Sohar, Liwa and Shinas the opportunity to support their Omani team in the game against Japan to be held in Muscat tomorrow. Orpic will also provide transport and refreshments for the fans. Abdulaziz Al Rashdi, corporate communication manager at Orpic, said: "We would like to engage with football fans across the neighbouring clubs and give them the chance to watch such an important game. This is definitely an initiative we are proud to be a part of and we are all looking forward to watching the game and supporting the Red Warriors live from the stands.- Nic Cartwright, OFA's commercial director, said: "It is great to see Omani companies such as Orpic join us in our drive to support the national team especially for tomorrow's big match.
