Victoria Azarenka, a semifinalist at Wimbledon, returned to the No. 1 spot in the women's tennis rankings in Monday's update. Azarenka replaced Maria Sharapova on top in a strong shake-up of the Top 10. Only one player -- fifth-ranked Samantha Stosur -- is in the same ranking position as before Wimbledon. Serena Williams defeated Agnieszka Radwanska for the women's singles title Saturday. It was her fifth Wimbledon championship overall -- and third in four years -- and 14th Grand Slam title. That boosted Williams from sixth to No. 4 while Radwanska moved from third to second. Azarenka retook the No. 1 spot, which she held for 19 weeks after winning the 2012 Australian Open. Maria Sharapova, whose win at the French Open allowed her to replace Azarenka in the top spot, slipped to third. She was ousted in the fourth round at Wimbledon. Azarenka has 8,800 rankings points while Radwanska totals 8,530, with Sharapova coming in at 8,370. Williams has 7,360 points and Stosur, who is the defending U.S. Open champion, has 6,195. Petra Kvitova, who beat Sharapova in the 2011 Wimbledon final, fell from fourth to No. 6 with 5,275 points, with Angelique Kerber (5,170) improving from seventh to eighth. She pushed Carolina Wozniacki (4,091) down one spot to eighth. Sara Errani (3,410) edged past Marion Bartoli for the No. 9 spot. Bartoli, ranking 10th, has 3,400 points.
