Brisbane - Arabstoday

Marcos Baghdatis posted the lone upset Wednesday in second-round play at the Brisbane International tennis tournament in Australia. Baghdatis took out sixth-seeded Florian Mayer 6-4, 6-2. It was the first time they'd played each other since 2007. Baghdatis fired 15 aces and saved four of five break-point chances while breaking Mayer's serve four times. Baghdatis clinched the match by losing just four points on serve behind nine aces in the second set. Third-seeded Gilles Simon got past Alejandro Falla 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-5), winning just five more (85-80) points than Falla over the 2-hour, 12-minute match. No. 4-seeded Alexandr Dolgopolov had built a 6-2, 4-1 lead before Jarkko Nieminen retired after becoming ill. Fifth-seeded Kei Nishikori was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over Tommy Robredo after he won 71 percent of the points on serve and didn't face a break point. Source:UPI
