Beijing-title winner Tomas Berdych jumped three places to seventh in the ATP rankings released on Monday giving the Czech valuable points towards one of the eight berths in the season-ending World Tour Finals in London. Serb Novak Djokovic holds the number one ranking ahead of Spain's Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer of Switzerland. Berdych, 26, overtakes France's Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who was beaten by the Czech in the Beijing semi-finals and drops one place to eighth, with American Mardy Fish and France's Gael Monfils also dropping to ninth and tenth respectively.
