Washington - Upi

Greg Chalmers fired a 3-under 69 Sunday, posting a one-shot win in an Australian Open that featured a strong final round by former world No. 1 Tiger Woods. Chalmers finished at 13-under 275, one better than third-round leader John Senden, to capture his second Aussie Open and first since 1998. Woods, meanwhile, rebounded from six shots behind Senden after the third round to make it close, registering a 5-under 67 to claim sole possession of third place at minus-11. He put a spectacular second shot just off the green en route to an eagle at the par-five 14th, pulling to just one behind Chalmers. But the latter's birdie at the par-three 15th kept him in the lead and he claimed the win when Senden missed a 35-foot birdie putt try in the final hole. Tied for fourth at minus-9 were Adam Scott (68), Geoff Ogilvy (65), Jason Day (74), Nick O'Hern (72) and Nick Watney (72).
