John Wallace's 30-field goal in overtime Friday brought No. 14 and unbeaten Louisville a 34-31 victory over Cincinnati. The Cardinals and Bearcats produced a dramatic conclusion to a game played in on-and-off rain, one that kept Louisville as one of 11 teams in major college football without a loss this season. Louisville rallied in the fourth quarter on two touchdown catches by DeVante Parker, the second one coming with just 1:56 remaining in regulation that put the Cardinals in front 31-24. Cincinnati then marched 59 yards in three plays and Munchie Legaux tied it with 45 seconds to play with a 27-yard scoring throw to Damon Julian. That brought about an overtime period and Cincinnati botched its first possession when Legaux threw a third-down pass that was intercepted by Terell Floyd in the end zone. Louisville thus needed only a field goal on its first possession to win the game and the Cardinals set up Wallace for a short attempt. The Cardinals got a huge break when Cincinnati called time out just before the snap on the field goal attempt. That snap sailed over the holder's outstretched hands, but the time out negated that miscue. Given a second chance, Wallace was perfect with the kick that gave Louisville an 8-0 record for the season and a 3-0 mark in the Big East Conference. Cincinnati suffered its second straight setback, falling to 5-2 and to 1-1 in league play. Unbeaten Rutgers is out front of the Big East with a 4-0 mark and must face both Louisville and Cincinnati during the next month. Louisville trailed 24-14 late in the third period, but Wallace kicked a 26-yard field goal to bring the Cardinals with seven points and Parker tied it with 11:10 left in the fourth period when he made a juggling catch in the end zone of a 30-yard pass from Teddy Bridgewater. Bridgewater then tossed a 64-yard touchdown pass to Parker that briefly gave the Cardinals the lead. The Louisville quarterback threw for a career-best 416 yards, completing 24-of-41 passes. Legaux was 13-of-28 for just 157 yards with three interceptions. Copyright 2012 United Press International, Inc. (UPI).
