Cuba's Glenhis Hernandez and Rafael Castillo on Friday won two gold medals in the 2013 World Taekwondo Championships. Cuba also bagged a bronze medal obtained by Robelis Despalgne in men's +87kg category, which made the Caribbean Island the biggest winner in the fifth day's competition. In women's 87 kg category, Hernandez beat sixth-seeded South Korean Lee In-Jong 5-1 and claimed the title. Castillo defeated China's Ma Zhaoyong 4-2 in men's 87 kg in the final. Ma told Xinhua that it was his first time to compete in the world championships and he only sought to play at his normal training level. He felt a little pity that he could not win the title because of some mistakes made during the final. "You cannot make too many mistakes when competing in matches of this level," he said, adding that he needed to improve himself with more focus on details in the future. Meanwhile, London Olympics silver medalist, Gabon's Anthony Obame, won the final of men's +87kg by beating Iranian Sajjad Mardani 10-2, bringing the first gold medal for Africa. The 2013 World Taekwondo Championships opened last Sunday night at the exhibition center in Puebla, with the participation of 872 athletes from 134 countries and regions. The sixth day of the biennial championships, on Saturday, will feature two weight categories: the women's 57kg and the men's 63kg. From: XINHUA
