The Detroit Red Wings set the record for most consecutive home wins by beating the Dallas Stars 3-1 with the help of the eventual game-winning goal from defenceman Brad Stuart. Jiri Hudler and Henrik Zetterberg also scored for the Red Wings who have won 21 consecutive games at the Joe Lewis Arena to surpass the Boston Bruins (1929-30) and the Philadelphia Flyers (1975-76). "We got a good crew here," said Detroit coach Mike Babcock. "We focus on our foundation and we believe if you work hard your skill will come out. We want to have a chance to knock on the door again this year." Detroit, who have the best record in the National Hockey League, have not lost in the Motor City since November 3 when they dropped a contest to the Calgary Flames. They blanked the Anaheim Ducks two days later to begin the streak. It was their fourth straight win following two losses on the road. They are 24-2-1 at the Joe Louis Arena this season and lead the Western Conference with 80 points. "It is a competitive league and it is hard to win that many in a row," Babcock said. On the road the Red Wings are a respectable 15-15-1.
