Novak Djokovic dressed him as a girl with a wig as he looked ahead to the upcoming US Open. The World No. 1 said that his shoulder injury is not causing him any problems. "Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Maria Sharapova." Well, not exactly, instead of the sultry Maria Sharapova it was a blonde-wigged Novak Djokovic who took the stage at a sponsors event in New York on Wednesday. The world number one is well known for his impersonations of fellow professionals, and this time he targeted the long-legged Russian star. World No.1 Novak Djokovic said, "With us women it's all about glamour. Looking good on the court, off the court. Showing off. I have to, I'm working every day, I'm trying to win matches and I'm trying to look glamorous and I think I'm doing well. Then the real Sharapova arrived and immediately pointed out the biggest flaw in Djokovic's efforts to mimic her. US Open 3rd Seed Maria Sharapova said, "What is that, that you are wearing? Where did you get that? That's not my hair. This is not my hair. First of all, that's a totally wrong shade of blonde." Djokovic is having a career-best year and despite retiring from the final of last week's Masters event in Cincinnati. Djokovic said, "Shoulder is not bad, You can see that. It's okay, you can see I can serve, I can play forehand. Yes, just a couple of days rest and that's all I needed. There was no major issues. No diagnoses. No torn muscle. No nothing. It's just a minor inflammation that I had because of too many matches that I had played and that's all." The red hot Djokovic comes into New York with a record of 57 wins and only two defeats this year and he has won nine tournaments in 2011, including the Australian Open and Wimbledon. Sharapova also comes to New York on a high note, having won last week in Cincinnati for her second victory of the year. That title and a final appearance at Wimbledon this summer have given the Russian hope that years of fighting back from injury are finally over. Sharapova said, "Personally it was a big step for me in a real good direction because I hadn't gone far at Wimbledon in a couple of years. And within this whole year I have felt like my game has improved. It's been a long journey back since my shoulder surgery, so it's been a nice year so far and going into the last Grand Slam of the year this is kind of where all the efforts go into and I think everyone's just going to fight for that last spot." It's a spot that Novak Djokovic has become used to this year as he looks to add one more Grand Slam title to a record-setting season.
