Eaton last scored on November 28, 2009, and has scored 24 career goals. “You can’t rely on just the big guys every time out,” Eaton told reporters. “You need to be able to win when those guys are held off the scoreboard.” The loss was the fifth straight for the struggling Senators who were playing their first game at home since January 16. Zack Smith opened the scoring for the Senators with only 13 seconds remaining in the second period on a wrist shot New York goalie Evgeni Nabokov could not get his glove to. “I don’t think we executed the way we wanted,” said Smith. “We tried being a little too cute at times.
