Egypt fell in Group E with Ghana, Congo and Uganda during Friday's draw for 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Of all 20 African national teams, just five teams that will come first in each of the five groups will be qualified for the Russia-hosted World Cup in 2018.
Egypt have made only two World Cup appearances, both in Italy in 1934 and 1990.
Here is the complete draw:
Group A: Tunisia, Libya, DR Congo, Guinea
Group B: Zambia, Cameroon, Algeria, Nigeria
Group C: Gabon, Mali, Ivory Coast, Morocco
Group D: Senegal, South Africa, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde
Group E: Ghana, Congo, Egypt, Uganda.
