Ross Fisher overcame an opening bogey Friday and moved into the lead of the European Tour's ISPS Handa Wales Open. Fisher shot a 5-under-par 66 in the second round and is at 6-under 136 after 36 holes. He's two strokes ahead of Lee Slattery, the first-round leader who settled for even-par 71 Friday and is 4-under for the tournament. Winds that hindered play Thursday eased Friday and the scores reflected the better conditions. Thongchai Jaidee (68), Chris Wood (67) and Fabrizio Zanotti (69) scored better than 70 and are tied for third at 3-under. Raphael Jacquelin, who had a wind-blown 5-over 76 in the first round, had the round of the day Friday with a 6-under 65 and is at 1-under for the tournament. Fisher opened on the 11th hole of the Celtic Manor Resort but had a bogey at the par-5, 562-yard hole. He used birdies at 15 and 18 to make the turn at 1-under and moved into contention with birdies at 2 and 3. He closed with consecutive birdies at 9 and 10. Slattery had just one bogey Thursday but his card was dotted with five bogeys Friday. He also had three birdies and an eagle at No. 11 in ending the round even.
