Chris Rolfe and Sherjill MacDonald each scored in the first half Saturday and the Chicago Fire held on for a 2-1 decision over New England. Rolfe scored only 5 minutes into the game on a penalty kick after the Revolution's A.J. Soares took him down in the penalty area. The Revs got an equalizing tally from Fernando Cárdenas only 6 minutes later, but Chicago (12-7-5) went ahead for good in the 25th when Patrick Nyarko crossed to MacDonald, who headed it past Revs goalkeeper Matt Reis. The Fire used the victory to move into a second-place tie in the Eastern Conference with Red Bull New York, who were set to play Sunday. New England fell to 6-13-5.
