France's Davis Cup captain Arnaud Clement on Thursday selected Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Julien Benneteau for the singles rubbers in this weekend's world group quarter-final tie against Germany. With French number one Richard Gasquet missing due to a back injury for the tie in Nancy, world number 50 Benneteau gets the nod ahead of the 25th-ranked Gael Monfils. Benneteau is fresh from reaching the quarter-finals at Indian Wells and the third round in Miami, while Monfils admitted that he had been affected by personal problems as he bowed out in the first round in Miami. The first singles rubber on Friday will see Benneteau face Tobias Kamke, who is ranked 96th in the world, before Tsonga takes on Peter Gojowczyk later. Michael Llodra and Monfils have been named as the doubles pairing for Saturday, but it is likely that the latter will make way for either Tsonga or Benneteau.
