Bayer Leverkusen's German international Sidney Sam will join Schalke 04 next season, Schalke announced on Wednesday. Sam, 25, an attacking midfielder, has signed a four-year contract for a fee rumoured to be in the region of 2.5 million euros ($3.4 million) and will join the Gelsenkirchen club on July 1. "Sidney Sam has shown, and not only by his superb form this season, the impact he can have in attack. He can play in a variety of positions, he is very ambitious and keen for success with Schalke," said sporting director Horst Held. Sam has scored 11 goals for Leverkusen so far this season.
