Dubai Budding cricketers in the UAE will get to train at the World Cricket Academy (WCA) in India. The UAE based Maxtalent has signed a deal with WCA last week to ensure that promising cricketers from the UAE get to train at this academy on a regular basis. Speaking to Gulf News, Sudhakar Shetty, Managing Director and Head Coach of the Maxtalent, said: "By entering into a deal with the WCA, players from UAE can get to travel to this academy which is based in Nagpur. It will enable the youngsters to get guidance from highly qualified coaches and top cricketers." Shetty, who organises inter school and inter university tournaments in UAE on behalf of the Maxtalent Academy every year, is keen that talented youngsters get the opportunity to learn cricket in India where the game is very popular. "The World Cricket Academy is a busy centre with teams from South Africa, England, South Australia regularly training there. Recently the Rajasthan Royals team also trained there. The youngsters from here can attend the youth development programmes conducted by Rajasthan Royals Technical Director Zubin Barucha, who is also the director of the academy," said Shetty. The WCA was founded by the late Rajsingh Dungarpur, former President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Coaching camp Meanwhile, rising star Andrew Berenger who represented Sri Lanka at the Under 19 World Cup in 2011, will stage a cricket coaching camp for juniors from June 1 at the Pakistan Cricket Association ground in Dubai. "Berenger was a member of Young Talents Cricket Academy (YTCA) in 2000 and played in various UAE domestic tournaments including the first Nissan Gulf Cup and went on to represent UAE Under-15 team before going to Sri Lanka. He would be an inspiration for the youngsters here," said Shahzad Altaf, the Head Coach of the Young Talents Cricket Academy. Players will be divided into age group of 6 to 13 and 14 years and above and for registration email to shahzadaltaf06@yahoo.com. Meanwhile Rameez Shahzad, who also learned his basics from YTCA, and is currently playing in England, hit a century off just 93 balls.
