France international Maxime Medard was on Monday ruled out of Toulouse's Top 14 match with Clermont on Saturday. The 26-year-old wing suffered a fractured rib in the French champions 10-8 defeat by Montpellier last Saturday, which left them third in the table and eight points adrift of second-placed Clermont. "An x-ray revealed he had fractured a rib," said Toulouse manager Guy Noves. Medard, who can also play fullback, could miss the final game at home to Grenoble as well. Toulouse must beat Clermont to have a hope of finishing in the top two and gaining a first round bye in the play-offs. From: AFP
