France international half-back Frederic Michalak has been added to reigning champions Toulon's European Rugby Champions Cup squad ahead of April's quarter-finals, organisers said Tuesday.
Teams are allowed to add three additional players to their original 38-man squads following the group stages, which started in October and ended in January.
Michalak, 32, has been recovering from a shoulder injury since September.
He tore tendons in his shoulder and dislocated his biceps during a Top 14 league match against Stade Francais.
Toulon have also added South African hooker Craig Burden, who's been out since November due to a torn pectoral muscle, and versatile Argentine back Juan Martin Hernandez, who only joined Toulon in January to replace Australian James O'Connor when he returned home.
Wasps have likewise brought in former New Zealand fly-half Piri Weepu to their squad after the 31-year-old joined last month from London Welsh as cover until the end of the season -- next year he will play for Oyonnax in the Top 14.
Leinster have activated prop Cian Healy and flanker Sean O'Brien ahead of their clash with Bath.
The quarter-finals will be played on April 4 and 5.
