Mika Miyazato, just having picked up her first LPGA title, jumps into the Top 10 in the world women's golf rankings, updated Monday. Miyazato won the Safeway Classic in Oregon by two strokes. She had an opening round of 7-under-par 65 and led throughout the tournament. She closed with a 70, punctuating the win with a birdie on the tournament's final hole. It marked her first LPGA win but she won the Japan Women's Open in October 2010. Miyazato bolts from 19th to No. 10 in the rankings. The only other change in the Top 10 sees Cristie Kerr, who tied for fourth at the Safeway Classic, moving past Ahn Sun-ju for the No. 8 spot, relegating Ahn to ninth. Yani Tseng is No. 1 for an 80th consecutive week, more than halfway to the record of 158 weeks that Lorena Ochoa was No. 1. Tseng has a rankings point average of 14.52. Stacy Lewis is second at 8.42 followed by Feng Shanshan barely behind at 8.41 and Choi Na-yeon in fourth at 8.29. Ai Miyazato, no relation to Mika, is ranked fifth at 7.58 while Suzann Pettersen (7.28) comes in at No. 6 and Amy Yang (6.42) is seventh. Kerr has an average of 6.42 and Ahn's is 6.05 while Mika Miyazato is at 5.98.
