Doha - QNA

The third round of the Qatar International Jet Ski Championship, organised by Qatar Marine Sports Federation under the cahrmainship of HE Sheikh Hassan bin Jabor Al Thani, was concluded at Al-Wakra’s historic port, south of Doha, on Saturday UAE-based Ludovic Caumont, Qatar’s Waleed Mahmoud Al-Sharshani and Majed Mahmoud Al-Sharshani won their respective Ski Stock (F1 Division), Runabout Super Stock and Runabout Stock (beginner class) categories at the third round of the Qatar International Jet Ski Championship on Saturday. The flying local rider Waleed Mahmoud Al-Sharshani achieved a second success in the Runabout Stock race for which he had claimed pole position on Friday afternoon. Caumont won the Ski Stock F1 Division category race from pole position and finished around 40 seconds in front of runner-up Rashid Al-Owaiss. Five riders finished the race and Kuwait’s Abdulwahab Suhail Issa rounded off the podium places, with Kuwait’s Fahed Nageeb Al-Musallim and Mubarak Sultan Al-Sultan in fourth and fifth, although Al-Sultan pulled out after just two of the 10 laps. Qatar’s Waleed Mahmoud Al-Sharshani used his pole position to great effect in the Runabout Super Stock category and claimed victory over fellow Qatari Mohamed Abdullah Al-Heidus by just under 47 seconds. Kuwait’s Yusef Abdul Razak finished third and fellow Kuwaiti Ahmed Rashid Al-Dawas was fourth of the 11 riders. Khamis Sbeit Al-Hosni qualified fifth and finished in a similar position, the Qatari demoting Rashid Ebrahim Al-Mannai to sixth. Al-Sharshani claimed his second victory of the day in the Runabout Stock category race. The Qatari finished the 10 laps in a time of 15min 41.85sec and that was sufficient to reach the chequered flag just under two seconds clear of Qatar’s Mohamed Abdullah Al-Heidus, who had qualified in third place. Yusef Abdul Razak finished third and Al-Mannai and Qatar’s Thamer Ahmed Abu Faisal were fourth and fifth. Majed Mahmoud Al-Sharshani qualified second and managed to win the Runabout Stock beginners’ class race by just under four seconds from pole sitter and fellow Qatari Mohammed Jasim Al-Obaidli. Kuwait’s Khalid Walid Al-Shaya, Saudi’s Hesham Sami Bakhsh, the UAE’s Hamad Yousef Allanjawi and Kuwait’s Abdulaziz Hamad Al-Omar rounded off the finishers in the category.
