Former Kansas City Royals closer Joakim Soria has signed two-year contract with the Texas Rangers with a club option for 2015, the team said Tuesday. Soria missed the 2012 season following right-elbow ligament replacement surgery in April, prompting the Royals to decline an $8 million 2013 club option on the hurler, who logged 160 saves with a 2.40 ERA over 298 career games with Kansas City. Terms of the Rangers' deal were not announced, but CBS Sports reported Texas agreed to $8 million for two years. When he returns sometime during the 2013 season, the 29-year-old Soria will likely be used as a set-up man for Rangers closer Joe Nathan.
