Australia's Neil Robertson defeated England's Judd Trump 6-3 on Saturday to set up a Masters final showdown with Shaun Murphy who saw off world champion John Higgins 6-4. Robertson stretched into a 4-1 lead before Trump, last year's world championship runner-up, fought back to win two frames in a row. But in the ninth frame he missed a blue into the middle and Robertson made the most of his opening to clinch the frame and the match. Robertson said he had been upset by cheers from the Alexandra Palace audience when Trump fluked shots but claimed it helped him to secure the victory. "If anything it made me play better," Robertson told the BBC. "It's disappointing because Judd is a fantastic lad and he is nothing like those guys." After his semi-final with Higgins, Murphy said: "Having had such a bad record in this tournament, to finally get to the final is great. "I would have been devastated to have to watch it on TV so to know I'm there with a chance of winning the trophy is massive. You can buy things in life but you can't buy your name on those trophies."
