Sale announced on Tuesday that they have signed former Ireland scrum-half Peter Stringer from English Premiership rivals Bath on a one-year contract.
Stringer, 37, is Ireland's most-capped scrum-half with 98 international appearances and will join Sale in time for the start of the 2015-16 season.
He played a record 230 games for Munster, including three European Cup finals, and has also played for Saracens and Newcastle.
"Once I heard that Peter was looking for a new club, I made my move and I am delighted he has decided to join us," Sale director of rugby Steve Diamond told the club's website.
"He, like Chris Cusiter, has bags of experience and I am sure he will be a great addition to our squad.
"Peter will also be able to assist youngster James Mitchell, who is improving all the time and will no doubt be fighting for a place in the team soon."
Stringer is hoping to leave Bath as a Premiership champion, with the Recreation Ground club set to face Leicester in the semi-finals on Saturday.
