Daniel Summerhays birdied four of the last seven holes Saturday morning to complete a five-under par 67 second round and grab a four-shot lead at the storm-hit Sanderson Farms championship. The American, still seeking a first US PGA Tour title, had completed eight holes on Friday, opening with a bogey but answering with birdies at the par-5 fifth and seventh holes, before darkness halted a round that had been stopped for two hours by lightning. After returning Saturday morning, Summerhays birdied the par-3 12th hole, added back-to-back birdies at the par-4 14th and par-3 15th and closed with a birdie at the par-5 18th to seize command ahead of an afternoon start in threesomes to the third round of the $3 million event. Summerhays, standing on 14-under 130, was in position to win his first Tour title last week, but squandered a third round lead and finished one shot behind eventual winner Jordan Spieth. This week, Summerhays hopes to bounce back from that heartbreak with a breakthrough triumph in a week where world number one Tiger Woods and the world's other top golfers are playing in the British Open at Muirfield in Scotland. Sharing second place on 10-under 134 for 36 holes were 11 players: Australia's Peter Lonard, Argentina's Fabian Gomez and Americans Vaughn Taylor, Paul Stankowski, Troy Matteson, Kyle Reifers, Bill Lunde, Billy Mayfair, Nicholas Thompson, Chris Kirk and Woody Austin.
