Iranian weightlifters have won the title of the 2012 Asian Weightlifting Championship held in the Pyeongtaek city of South Korea. Iran's squad won the title with 501 points, only one point more than South Korea. China and Thailand stood third and fourth with 420 and 415 points respectively. On Monday, Behdad Salimi grabbed thee gold medals for Iran in the +105 kilograms category of the competitions. The world championship finished in first place by lifting 206 kilograms in snatch, 245 kilograms in clean and jerk and 451 kilograms in total. In the +105 kilograms category, Sajjad Anoushiravani also claimed the bronze medal with a total of 431 kilograms. Sohrab Moradi had also won the gold medal in the 85 kilograms class with a total of 388 kilograms. His compatriot Kianoush Rostami won the silver by lifting 383 kilograms in the same class. Sajjad Behrouzi seized the bronze medal in the 69 kilograms class with a total of 323 kilograms.
