Former Brighton manager Gus Poyet on Sunday claimed his sacking by the Championship club could go to court. Poyet, an ex-Chelsea and Tottenham star, was dismissed for gross misconduct last month, having previously been suspended by the club in the aftermath of the play-off defeat by Crystal Palace at the end of last season. The Uruguayan lost an appeal against the decision on July 16, but does not expect that will be the end of the matter. Poyet told Sky Sports' Goals On Sunday programme: "There are several reasons but unfortunately this will probably go to court. Because I totally disagree with every allegation and accusation the club has put on me. "I will take action because I think it's important for me. I'm quite confident and relaxed but I hope we will go to court because it is the best way for the truth to come out." Poyet, 45, led Brighton to the League One title in 2011 and then to the club's highest league finish for more than 30 years in 2013. The Seagulls, who appointed Oscar Garcia as Poyet's replacement, got off to a disappointing start on the opening day of the Championship season, losing 2-1 at Leeds on Saturday. Source: AFP
