Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kasoulides said Tuesday a common understanding gathers Egypt, Greece and Cyprus that terrorism is a common threat that needs cooperation on combating it.
In an interview with Nile News, the Cypriot top diplomat added that the meeting between the heads of state and government of Egypt, Cyprus and Greece was a great development on the way to achieve more security and stability in the Eastern Mediterranean region.
The results of cooperation between the three countries will appear on the ground soon, Kasoulides said.
Relations between Egypt, Cyprus and Greece and the extent of cooperation and flexibility between them represent an example for other countries, he added.
Kasoulides said investors from the Cypriot private sector are in touch with the Egyptian authorities.
Cooperation is also maintained by the three countries in the security field, including sharing information, experience and training, he added.
During today's summit, Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades thanked President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on the positive role played by Egypt at the UN Security Council, as well as the Organization of Islamic States, while Sisi thanked Cyprus and Greece on their role at the European Union in support of Egypt, the Cypriot minister said.
