"Liberation and Justice Movement, now planning to move to Darfur, cannot alone resolve the crisis in the region,” said Ali Majok Al-Momen, the chairman of the Darfur Free Will movement. He added that it "is designed on a tribal basis, and the government knows it, but is forced to agree to that.” In an exclusive interview with Arabstoday, Majok, a state minister in the government of President Omar Al-Bashir, said: “This strategy is wrong, and often adopted by members who do not represent a collective perspective within the ruling party or government.” He explained that "indications show splits within the movement, as it consisted of a mixture of groups belong. Its leader Tijani Cisse didn’t belong to any armed movement, but he was opposed to the Al-Bashir regime from within the Nation Party. Choosing that man to lead the movement was for the primary objective of resolving the issue of displaced persons camps in Darfur, and most of them belong to his tribe, Al Fur.” "The government deals with the armed movements in Darfur in a practical way, because there are those within the ruling party who believe that once the movements sign a peace agreement with the government, they will end,” Majok stated. He explained: "Our experience shows the contrary. For example, Mona Arko Minawi signed an agreement in Abuja, and became President Al-Bashir's chief assistant, and then went back again to lead the rebellion against the government." On the Doha document, Majok said: “It is not an agreement but a document, built on the basis of the Abuja Agreement.” “When it comes to the Darfur crisis, the government does not consult anyone, and decisions are made on the basis of security reports," Majok answered when asked about the damages of standing in silence regarding the Darfur issue. Majok predicted that “the tasks and responsibilities of the regional authority, headed by Tijani Cisse, and the governors of the states of Darfur, shall contradict when the authority engages in tasks in the region." He explained that by constitutional conflicts, since “the Doha document is not included in the Constitution.”
