Egyptian President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi said Wednesday in an interview with Kuwait News Agency Board Chairman and Director General Sheikh Mubarak Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah that Egyptian national security is closely linked to the security of the Arab Gulf region.
The President Al-Sisi has underscored the close link between Egyptian and Arab Gulf security during the interview with KUNA, said Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef in a press briefing on the main points tackled in the interview, which will be aired in full by KUNA on Saturday.
Youssef noted that the President has laid it bare that any leniency in protecting Arab Gulf region security is considered a leniency in maintaining Egyptian security as Egypt and the Gulf region share the same destiny and future.
He pointed out that President Al-Sisi's interview with KUNA focused on the prospects of Kuwaiti-Egyptian relations and efforts exerted to enhance Egyptian-Gulf cooperation in different domains.
It also tackled the political and economic developments in Egypt and the challenges facing Egyptian economy, the government efforts to attract foreign investments and the mega national projects that the government is implementing currently, said Youssef.
He stated that the interview touched upon Egypt's relations with the world after 30 June, 2013, events and the ouster of former president Mohammad Morsi as well as Egypt's vision on terrorism fighting.
The President also clarified to KUNA Egypt's stance of the recent developments in several Arab countries, he said.
