Hundreds of displaced families returned to their homes in al-Mayadeen city and its countryside in the southeastern part of Deir Ezzor province.
The families’ return came after the army’s engineering units cleared the area from Daesh (ISIS) remnants.
SANA’s reporter said that hundreds of families crossed on Friday via al-Salhia waterway connecting the two banks of the Euphrates River towards the city of al-Mayadeen and its countryside heading to their homes to resume their normal lives after security and safety has been restored to the area by the Syrian Arab Army and after all basic services have been restored.
The returnees hailed the government’s efforts in restoring basic services to their areas which allows them to resume farming once again and enables the children to return to their schools.
About 600,000 citizens have returned to Deir Ezzor since the beginning of 2018.
