The legislative and constitutional committee deputy, in Egypt's Parliament, MP Ahmed Helmy, expressed his support to the recent cabinet reshuffle, which included changing nine ministers and appointing of four deputies.
Helmy expected that these new names will make a significant difference citizens' life, expressing his objection on criticizing the new ministers from now.
Helmy adde, in an exclusive interview with Arabs Today, that what characteristic the recent change from its predecessors is to rely again on the set of criteria that contribute to the success of the leaderboard for public action, such as efficiency and the character of the political minister.
Ali Al-Moselhi, who took over the ministry of supply and international trade, is a good choice for the political minister, who is able to address the public and understand their needs, supported by a proven track record of past successes on the political, governmental and parliamentary levels, he stated. In addition, the new education minister Tariq Galal Shawky, has considerable experience in this area, Helmy indicated.
Helmy explained that what is good, in this amendment, is that much of what requested by the Parliament has happened in this reshuffle, in response to the parliamentarians' calls to change number of ministers' names, and as the deputies transporting pulse of the street, therefore, the government answered their calls.
With regard to the reason for the delay in announcing these amendments, Helmy said that despite number of reasons given by Prime Minister Sharif Ismail, including frequent apologies, but the fact that the approval of this amendment required the opinion of the House of Representatives, this time in an unprecedented way, what delayed the announcement.
Concerning the emergence of immediate objections from some MPs about the recent cabinet reshuffle, Helmy explained: "We must stand in neutral zone and wait for the results, and then we can evaluate the new ministers' performance.
