Rabat - Redouane Mabchour

President of the Moroccan National Rally of Independents opposition party has denied rumours that secret negotiations are being held between the party the Justice and Development ruling party. Salaheddine Mezouar confirmed in a statement to Arabstoday that the group has not authorised anyone to negotiate on their behalf, saying “there are no issues that require negotiation.” "Major decisions of the party are not managed by mandates and no one can give himself a validity of this kind," he added. Mezouar asserted that his party is “not concerned with concerned with what is going on inside the ruling majority." At the same time he warned of the dangers of an absence of clarity and ability to deal with the economic and political developments. Mezouar also lamented the recent governmental crisis and the negative affected it has had on Morocco’s economy. He attributed the failings to the lack of “open dialogue” in the country’s political culture. “The National Rally of Independents does not believe in secrecy and makes every effort to engage with the public. We are satisfied with our position within the opposition and are unconcerned with what happens within the ruling party.
