Bolton's Premier League fixture against Aston Villa on Tuesday night was postponed after the first-half abandonment of Saturday's FA Cup tie at White Hart Lane, during which Muamba collapsed on the pitch. The football authorities have also offered to defer Saturday's Blackburn game as they show sensitivity to the player's predicament. The matter will be discussed at training today, where Bolton's manager, Owen Coyle, has been able to oversee his first session since events at Tottenham. He has otherwise been a near-constant presence at 23-year-old Muamba's bedside. Coyle was sufficiently encouraged by Muamba’s condition, having spoken to the former England U21 international, to return to Lancashire on Tuesday night. Another topic of discussion will be the rearrangement of the abandoned FA Cup tie and the return to the scene of Muamba's collapse. The Football Association reportedly have in mind the clear midweek window next week in which to play the game, but have left the decision up to Bolton officials and their playing staff. With Coyle having travelled north, Bolton's chairman, Phil Gartside, remains in situ at the London Chest Hospital, where medical sources say Muamba spent another night "in comfort". He remains in intensive care and his condition is still being described as "serious". Bolton's owner, Eddie Davies, will head to the hospital today for his first visit since Muamba's collapse.
