"I have put in my resignation from Enyimba," revealed Eguavoen, who joined Enyimba early this season after he quit as coach of Nigeria Olympic team following the failure to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics. "I am leaving on personal grounds, but I will first wait for the club chairman to return so that the team manager can forward the letter of resignation to him." This was Eguavoen's second spell at the two-time African champions after he led them to win the 2009 Federation Cup. On Monday, Enyimba, six-time league winners and twice cup winners, were upset by lower league Prime FC in the quarter-finals of this year's Federation Cup. Both players and officials were placed on half salary following their shock cup ouster. The club are currently third on the NPL table with 52 points, six points behind leaders Enugu Rangers with four rounds of matches to be played. Ahram Online
