Arsenal’s opponents on the Hong Kong leg of their summer tour, Kitchee FC, could claim an historic treble if they beat TSW Pegasus in the FA Cup final on Saturday. Having won their first league title in 47 years in 2011, Kitchee retained their crown with a 4-1 defeat of Biu Chun Rangers in their final game of the campaign last Sunday. Despite a heavy downpour at Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground, goals from Chan Man-fai and Tsang Kam-to gave Kitchee a commanding half-time advantage. Li Jian pulled one back for Rangers 10 minutes after the interval, but the defending champions were not about to give up their title and a Jordi Tarres strike and Roberto Losada’s penalty secured the all-important win. Having already won the League Cup on April 15 by beating TSW Pegasus 2-1 in the final, Ken Ng’s team now stand on the verge of their first-ever treble. Arsenal return to Hong Kong for the first time in 17 years to face Kitchee at the Hong Kong Stadium on Sunday, July 29. The game will give the Club’s huge fan base in Hong Kong the opportunity to see Arsène Wenger’s team play live ahead of the 2012/2013 season.
