Feyenoord coach Ronald Koeman insists he is close to agreeing a new contract that will see him remain at the helm of the Eredivisie club beyond this summer. The former Netherlands international took charge of the Rotterdam outfit last July, signing a one-year contract, and speculation has long been rife that an extended deal is in the pipeline. The former Ajax, PSV Eindhoven and AZ Alkmaar coach has led Feyenoord to fifth place in the first half of the season, just seven points off the summit, and appears to have done enough to convince the club's board he is worthy of a further contract. Speaking from the club's training camp in Marbella, Koeman said: "The atmosphere is very positive, but agreement has not yet been reached. "Both parties intend it to continue. We have not so far got an agreement, but that will soon be done. We will talk about it back in the Netherlands."
