The French Ligue 1 giants have sent a team of scouts to Cameroon in search of local talent who could join the club in the next transfer window.Olympique Marseille sports director Jose Anigo arrived in Douala, Cameroon on Tuesday leading a team of scouts from theFrench club with a mission to search for talented local footballers in the central African nation.The group will be guided by locally-based Fifa agent Mxim Nana during the expedition which will mostly concern Elite One (division one) clubs, a source close to the programme told Goal.com on Wednesday.The Marseille scouts will commence their exercise by observing the players of Cameroon champions Coton Sports, whose charismatic former coach Denis Lavagne now heads the national team.Other clubs will also be visited by Les Phoceens experts, according to reports.In 2008, a similar exploration by Marseille led to the signing of defender Charly Fomen from Panthere sportive du Nde.Coton Sports have an exclusive contract with Nana for the placement of their players in the European market.A number of French clubs including Saint Etienne have also been scouting in Senegal, while Manchester City recently held a regional talent screening programme in Accra, Ghana, which was attended by many players from west African clubs.
