Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho had few complaints about his team's performance despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Malaga at the Bernabeu yesterday. Karim Benzema's opener was cancelled out by Santi Cazorla's stunning stoppage-time free-kick to halt Real's 11-match winning run in La Liga. The result allowed Barcelona to close the gap at the top to eight points, but Mourinho appeared to take it all in his stride. "Drawing or losing a match is normal in a championship," he told the club's website. "I would have a reason to be dissatisfied or critical towards my men if they dropped two points due to having a bad attitude, but I cannot criticise them because they gave their all and gave a great performance in the second half. "We always dominated the match and we had many chances, while Malaga hardly had any. It was hard for us to get in the game. Malaga are a quality side currently in the Champions League qualifying positions. "They made things difficult for us in the first half, but not in the second. We only scored one goal from the many chances we had. Scoring one or failing to do so is normal too. I don't think I have reasons to be critical of my men - they didn't lack ambition. "There are 11 games left and 33 points still at stake, meaning the championship is still open. We only worry about what we do because we'll win if we take enough points."
