Robert Snodgrass offered Leeds deal

Leeds United have offered captain Robert Snodgrass a new contract giving the midfielder the chance to become the club's highest paid player. The 24-year-old's current deal is to expire at the end of next season, with the West Yorkshire side keen to retain their star man. Manager Neil Warnock has revealed that Snodgrass will stay as captain for next season and believes he could be the catalyst for winning promotion to the Premier League. "I want him to be our captain next year and I've asked him to give us a year to get Leeds United into the Premier League and if we don't get there at the end of next season, I'll get him there myself because I'll help him and let him go. I think he loves the club and has a lot of loyalty, and as captain I think he will support us in what we are trying to do." Meanwhile, Snodgrass has admitted that it has not been easy to cope with losing a vast amount of home games this season. They have now been beaten 10 times at Elland Road, including a 5-0 loss to Blackpool and a 7-3 reverse against Nottingham Forest.
