Roberto Mancini has admitted the mistakes Manchester City have made this season remind him of what happened when he was a player with Lazio and they slipped up in the title race. City have been on top of the Premier League for most of the season but dropped behind Manchester United last weekend after losing to Swansea. They have not been quite as consistent over the past few weeks as they were earlier in the season when they were in scintillating form. Mancini accepts that a developing team such as City will always have hiccups, but will be hoping their campaign does not end in disappointment. The Italian recalls a time when he was a player with Lazio and, after winning the Coppa Italia in his first season with the club, they held a seven-point lead in the league the following campaign. However, they stumbled and ended up losing out to AC Milan on the final day. "I think we can draw parallels with that Lazio and this Man City," Mancini said in The People. "We have made mistakes so far, but that's normal for a team that is growing up like ourselves."
